“Women in the Peace Process” Discussion Panel Facilitated by CSD (Yerevan)
On June 2 in Yerevan, Center for Strategy and Development (CSD) with the initiative of Latvian embassy co-organized a panel discussion, “Women in the Peace Process,” focusing on the role of women in peacebuilding and the implementation of the UN Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. The event brought together Latvian and Armenian officials, civil society leaders, and international partners to share experiences and highlight the importance of inclusive approaches to security.
In her opening address, Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, emphasized: “Security is stronger and more sustainable when women are not only present but actively engaged at all levels.” One of the key messages was the need for stronger cooperation between governments and NGOs, not just during planning, but in real decision-making. CSD continues its regional engagement across the South Caucasus and Central Asia to support partners and promote inclusive, sustainable peace and security.
